SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR Oct 26 : “Ecomore Myanmar: Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) in 2 pediatric hospitals”
Ecomore Myanmar project was a cooperation between Institute Pasteur Cambodia and several Institutes from Yangon in Myanmar, mainly focusing in early detection and surveillance of SARI clinical cases between December 2014 to April 2016.
Despite the fact that Southeast Asia is an epicenter of antimicrobial resistance; little is known about the situation in Myanmar. In order to better understand this situation and the impact of Multi drug Resistant Gram Negative Bacteria in a pediatric population with SARI from 2 pediatric hospitals in Yangon (Myanmar) we conducted 2 case control analyses using the data from Ecomore project.
We aimed to describe species distribution and antibiotic resistances profiles, as well as associated factors to mortality and to Multi drug Resistant Gram Negative Bacteria infection/colonization.
