    Sept 20: Scientific Seminar: 2PM “Integrating geographic approaches to health studies: presentation of some past and current Work”

    Speaker: Vincent Herbreteau, PhD in Health Geography researcher at the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD)


    This seminar will talks about the use of geographical methods and tools (GIS and remote sensing) to capture the spatial and temporal components of health inequalities. He will present their implementation along three axes: in spatial epidemiology and surveillance, in disease ecology and for the measurement of populations’ vulnerability, in particular with regard to inequalities in access to healthcare. He will illustrate through his researches in the Indian Ocean, on malaria and leptospirosis, and starting at IPC with the Ecomore2 project.
