    Oct 4th : Scientific Seminar 2PM : “Vector competence – What Affects Vector-Virus Interactions?”

Speaker: Heidi Auerswald, Postdoctoral researcher at Virology Unit, Institut Pasteur Cambodia

    Abstract:

Viral diseases like Dengue or Chikungunya that are transmitted by mosquitoes are raising global public health concerns due to their rapid geographical spread and increasing disease burden. Understanding the role of the vector mosquitoes in the transmission cycle is critical for the development and implementation of control measures. This seminar will address the concept of vector competence and the challenges of mosquito transmission experiments.
