Aspergillus and aspergillosis in Cambodia_The Aspa_day at Insitut Pasteur du Cambodge: June 28, 2019
On Friday, 28th of June, 2019, the Aspa_day (Aspergillus and aspergillosis in Cambodia) has been organized in order to make the conclusion of the project on Aspergillus, managed by Dr. Yannick CARON (Responsible of the PTR Aspergillus and Aspergillosis in Cambodia), at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC). There were 42 participants: 26 from IPC, 8 from Calmette Hospital, 5 from Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital and 3 from Preah Kossamak Hospital. This is a two-and-a-half year project involving 626 patients in a wide clinical study to provide information on diagnosis of aspergillomas in Cambodia.
During this Aspa-day, there was a warm welcome and thank you speech by Dr. Didier FONTENILLE, Director of IPC and then a scientific report where the main results of the project has been presented. A visit of Medical and Mycology Laboratories has been also made and followed by a lunch organized on the Kanika boat.
First data on diagnosis and epidemiology of aspergillosis in Cambodia will be soon published in an international scientific peer-reviewed journal that highlights the very good and productive collaboration between clinicians and researchers in this country.
