Title: “Creation of environmental indicators with spatial and temporal analysis – A study case on the mosquitoes distribution in Cambodia”

Speaker: Jégo Sylvaine intern in Data Sciences

    Abstract:

Based on mapping and satellite images, spatial and environmental indicators are extracted to study the diversity of mosquito species. Mosquito captures were carried out every three months for two years in 24 primary schools in Cambodia’s Kampong Cham region. Twelve of them received an integrated vector control intervention for dengue fever for the second year of study. Machine learning models were performed on the environmental indices in order to predict them on the same dates as the entomological surveys, as well as on the previous dates. Spatiotemporal factors thus created were then integrated into the study of the Shannon and Simpson biodiversity indices.
