The Malaria chemoresistance screening workshop at Institut Pasteur du Cambodge: 8th-12th of July 2019
The Malaria chemoresistance screening workshop is organized at the Malaria Molecular Epidemiology Unit of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) from 8th to 12th of July 2019. This workshop is held in the framework of the MIVSC-ACT project funded by 5% initiative.
3 participants from Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) in Thailand, one participant from Oxford University Clinical Research Unit in Vietnam and one participant from Institute of Malariology-Parasitology and Entomology Quy Nhon in Vietnam (IMPEQN), joined this training given by Dr. Benoît Witkowski, Head of Malaria Molecular Epidemiology Unit and by Mélissa MAIRET, PhD Student at Malaria Molecular Epidemiology Unit of IPC.
IPC has an important track record in the development of new tools & technics to detect resistant malaria. Therefore, this workshop aims capacity building & technology transfer to our collaborator from GMS (Greater Mekong Subregion) that also experience circulation of resistant parasites in their country. The overall objective is an homogenization and a diffusion of the most updated technics, developed by IPC, to rapidly and accurately track resistance in GMS.
