Title: “Evolution of H9 Avian Influenza Viruses in Cambodia”
Speaker: Annika SUTTIE, PhD Student, Virology Unit, Institut Pasteur du Cambodge
A(H9N2) subtype avian influenza viruses (AIVs) circulate worldwide in wild birds and are endemic in poultry in a number of Eurasian and African countries. The circulation of A(H9) AIVs in poultry represents a threat for agricultural and public health industries globally. A(H9) AIVs were originally detected in Cambodian poultry in 2013, and now circulate endemically. This presentation will explore the molecular, phylogenetic and antiviral susceptibility profiles of A(H9) subtype AIVs detected in Cambodia.
