Jan 30th: Scientific Seminar 02:00 PM : ”Evolutionary trajectories of multi drug resistance”

Title: “Evolutionary trajectories of multi drug resistance”

Speaker: GLASER Philippe, PhD, Research Director, Head of Unit, Ecology and Evolution of Antibiotics Resistance, Laboratory UMR / AP-HP-CNRS-UMR3525-Paris 11, Institut Pasteur de Paris, France

How multi drug resistant clones emerge and disseminate globally ? Focusing on two major pathogenic species: Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia and by combining phylogeny and epidemiological information, we reconstruct the evolution of antibiotic resistant lineages. This leads us to propose evolutionary hypotheses that we experimentally test for their functional consequences.
