The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) has been in the forefront of the global COVID-19 pandemic response in Cambodia since January, 2020. IPC remains fully committed to the pandemic response and working together with the Ministry of Health to combat COVID-19 in Cambodia. As of January 14th 2021, the IPC Virology Unit has performed more than 200,000 (two hundred thousand) COVID-19 RT-PCR tests for the molecular detection of SARS-CoV-2.
These tests have contributed to the identification and/or confirmation of the 411 (four hundred eleven) COVID-19 positive individuals reported by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) to the World Health Organization (WHO) since January, 2020.
The Direction of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge would sincerely like to express our warmest thanks to Dr. Veasna Duong (Head of Virology Unit), Dr. Erik Karlsson (Deputy Head, WHO Global Referral Laboratory coordinator), Dr. HORM Srey Viseth (senior scientist), Dr. Narjis Boukli (medical virologist), and all of the staff members who continue to work 7 days a week since last January for the benefit of the Cambodian population.
