Visit of Dr. Tranh Thi Anh-Dao to Battambang rabies prevention center

On May 22, 2025, IPC-PHD Battambang Rabies Prevention Center had the pleasure of welcoming the visit of Dr. Tranh Thi Anh-Dao, Attaché for scientific and higher education cooperation of the Embassy of France in Cambodia. The visit began with a presentation by Dr. LYM Senghong, Medical Supervisor of IPC-PHD Battambang Rabies Prevention Center, on the collaboration between IPC and Battambang PHD for the creation and operation of this center, followed by the highlight of the achievement of this center as part of the public health mission of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge to support the Ministry of Health’s strategic plan to eliminate human rabies deaths by 2030. In 2024, The IPC treated 58,203 people potentially exposed to rabies (animal bites, scratches), including 14,762 at the Battambang Rabies Prevention Center. During her visit, Dr. Tranh Thi Anh-Dao engaged in in-depth discussions with the teams on the challenges and difficulties that the team has encountered in maintaining this life-saving activity for the benefit of animal bite victims in the region.
