Visit of H.E. Jacques Pellet to the Kampong Cham Rabies Prevention Center

On May 28, 2025, the Kampong Cham Rabies Prevention Center had the honor of welcoming H.E. Jacques Pellet, the French Ambassador to Cambodia, for a special visit. This occasion highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Embassy of France and the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) in advancing public health initiatives across the country.

The visit began with an insightful presentation by Dr. Peng Yiksing, the Head of Vaccination Services of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, who shared the center’s key role in combating rabies and its alignment with the Ministry of Health’s mission to eliminate human rabies deaths by 2030. In 2024, the IPC treated over 58,000 individuals potentially exposed to rabies, underscoring the center’s critical impact on public health in the region.

During the visit, H.E. Jacques Pellet engaged in meaningful discussions with the dedicated team members, gaining insight into the challenges and successes of the center’s life-saving work. This visit reinforces the shared commitment to addressing urgent health challenges and further strengthens the partnership between Cambodia and France in public health.
