On 6 December 2023, the First Stone Ceremony was held at construction site of the Rabies Prevention Center within Kampong Cham Provincial Hospital. This new center is intended to replace the one installed in 2019 inside the hospital. Accessible directly from outside the hospital and more visible, it will allow easier treatment.

The ceremony was beautifully and solemnly organized by the Provincial Health Department (PHD) following Cambodian tradition to mark the start of construction works. This building initiative stems from a strong collaboration between the PHD and Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC).

Present at the ceremony were Directors and Deputy Directors of PHD, of Provincial Hospital and of IPC. Some technical officers from the three institutions also join the event.

Of note, the ceremony happens just one day after the date of the 70th Anniversary of IPC which was first inaugurated on 5 December 1953.
