On 18 September, the IPC was pleased to welcome Mr Luc LE CALVEZ, the new representative of the IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement / the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development) in Cambodia.

The visit provided an opportunity to give a presentation of the IPC’s activities by Pr André SPIEGEL  and to discuss in detail the partnerships being implemented by the 2 institutions in various fields, including major projects being carried out using a One Health approach, such as the PREZODE-AFRICAM and ECOMORE 3 projects.

Mr Luc LE CALVEZ was able to meet the scientists involved in these projects (Dr DUONG Veasna, Dr CHENG Soklepah) and to take a brief tour of the Institute, in particular the Medical Biology Laboratory, which houses the LMI-DRISA (Laboratoire Mixte International – Drug Resistance in Southeast Asia) within the Bacteriology and Antibiotic Resistance Group.
