Visit of Dr Rebecca Grais: Strengthening Scientific Collaboration within the Pasteur Network
On 4–5 February, Dr Rebecca Grais, Executive Director of the Pasteur Network, and Nick Chung, Regional Strategic Development Officer for Asia-Pacific, visited the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) for in-depth discussions on its scientific and public health activities.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of IPC’s units and services, offering an overview of the full continuum of its work. From rabies prevention and vaccination services to medical biology, virology and immunology, the tour also covered environmental and food safety, epidemiology and public health, medical and veterinary entomology, and malaria research. This journey through laboratories, platforms and field-oriented units highlighted the strong integration of research, surveillance, diagnostics and prevention that underpins IPC’s mission in Cambodia.
The programme continued with working meetings, followed by shared lunches and dinners with young scientists, the PSRL, the Director, and Heads of Units of IPC. These exchanges provided valuable opportunities to discuss strategic collaboration, regional priorities, capacity building, and the future development of the Pasteur Network in the Asia-Pacific region.
