WaSPP Research Study Advances through Target Product Profile (TPP) Survey and Stakeholder Engagement

As part of the Wastewater Surveillance for Pandemic Prevention (WaSPP) research study led by the Virology Unit, Institut Pasteur du Cambodge gathered 30 participants across government, academic, development, and public health partners on Tuesday May 12, at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh for a Target Product Profile (TPP) Development and Stakeholders session.

Participants filled in a TPP survey, which is designed to gather practical requirements for wastewater surveillance systems in Cambodia – from sample collection to pathogen detection, sequencing, and characterization – to support early detection of emerging health threats on a community level.

The event brought together multisectoral stakeholders and opened with remarks from Pr. André Spiegel, Director of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge and H.E. Dr. Ly Sovann, Director of the Communicable Disease Control Department at the Ministry of Health of Cambodia.
