On July 11 and 17, Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) organized two comprehensive first aid training sessions for its staff, supported by of Future Focus Solutions and the Cambodian Red Cross, with more than 40 participants. These trainings aimed to enhance staff preparedness and reinforce safety protocols in both laboratory settings and during field missions.

Laboratory staff participated in hands-on training using mannequins and first aid equipment, focusing on emergencies that can occur in laboratory environments. Real-case scenarios were simulated to help staff practice CPR, AED use, and effective responses to incidents such as chemical spills, cuts, burns, inhalation of fumes, fainting, choking, and other lab-related emergencies in a realistic and supportive setting.

Staff involved in field missions received first aid training tailored to the unique challenges of working in remote or demanding environments. Participants engaged in practical exercises to practice CPR, AED use, and effective responses to emergencies such as injuries, heat exhaustion, snake bites, and sudden illnesses.

These trainings are essential for ensuring IPC staff can react quickly and appropriately to emergencies, whether in the lab or in the field, where timely intervention can make a critical difference in protecting the health and safety of both staff and those they serve.
