It is with great sadness that the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge has learned of the passing of Prof. Yves BUISSON, who died on 26 November 2025 in France.

To honor his memory, IPC organized a ceremony on Thursday, 4 December, bringing staff together to pay tribute to his legacy and lifelong commitment to global research, public health and training.

Prof. Buisson served as Director of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge from 1999 to 2001, before becoming Executive Delegate to the International Network of Pasteur Institutes. Earlier in his career, he also led the Laboratory of the Institut Pasteur in Dakar. As medical biologist and specialist in tropical medicine, Prof. Buisson had a distinguished career within the French Armed Forces Medical Service.

Prof. Buisson was a Member of the French National Academy of Medicine (since 2007) and he remained deeply engaged in scientific and public health missions, including one carried out on behalf of the Academy, during which we had the honor of welcoming him to IPC in June 2023.
