International Day of Immunology 2026
On the occasion of the International Day of Immunology 2026, the Immunology Unit of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge gathered in Sihanoukville, Cambodia for its bi-annual retreat.
This year’s focus on regulatory T cells and immune balance highlights a key function of the immune system: T cells are specialized white blood cells that detect threats, coordinate responses, and eliminate infected cells, while regulatory T cells ensure this response remains balanced and controlled.
For over a decade, the Unit has contributed to understanding immune responses to major infectious diseases in Cambodia, including dengue, chikungunya, and malaria.
Beyond research, the retreat strengthened team cohesion and shared vision. Through presentations, a vlog, and a collaborative SWOT session, team members reflected on their work, aligned on priorities, and reinforced the collective dynamic that drives impactful science.
