Strengthening outbreak investigation and animal disease surveillance in Cambodia
The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) provided technical support to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in delivering a three-day training from July 1–3, 2025, in Kep province for the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production (GDAHP) on the use of Kobo Toolbox for animal disease surveillance and outbreak investigation. The training brought together 33 participants from GDAHP.
Over the course of the training, participants gained hands-on experience using Kobo Toolbox for designing digital survey forms, managing data collection online and offline, and analyzing results in real time. Participants also developed tailored outbreak investigation and surveillance forms and practiced digital data collection during a field simulation.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance Cambodia’s capacity for early detection and response to transboundary animal diseases, contributing to stronger animal health systems.
