Strengthening Laboratory Safety and Quality Through Training of Trainers Sessions

From April to May 2026, the Hygiene, Safety, Environment, Quality and Maintenance-Metrology Service (HSeQM) organized a series of Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions aimed at strengthening laboratory safety, operational practices, and quality improvement standards within Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC).A total of 40 participants attended the program, which was delivered over 18 hours of training. The sessions covered several essential topics, including pipettes, incubators, Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs) and Laminar Flow Cabinets, centrifuges, freezers and refrigerators, waste management, vaccine storage and transportation, as well as document formatting and codification.

The trainings were designed for laboratory users who will further transfer their knowledge and practical skills to newcomers and colleagues, contributing to long-term capacity building and the safe and efficient use of laboratory equipment and systems.

Through this initiative, HSeQM continued to promote a strong culture of biosafety, quality, and continuous learning across laboratory environments at IPC.

At the end of the training program, certificates were presented to all participants during a closing ceremony led by the Director of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, in recognition of their active participation and successful completion of the sessions.
