The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a Cambodian non-for-profit research institution established in 1953, IPC is today a scientific research establishment declared of public utility placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and under the responsibility of the Institute Pasteur on the scientific and technical levels. The IPC is a member of the Pasteur Network, which brings together 33 institutes present on five continents. It shares the Pasteurian values and the ethical charter to which the Pasteur Institutes are bound. The IPC has more than 300 employees, including about 30 expatriates of 10 nationalities and includes 6 research units. It carries out research activities in health biology, public health and service activities (Medical Biology Laboratory, vaccinations and water and food analyses) and training.

 

The Immunology Unit at IPC has been established 10 years ago and performs cutting edge research in the field of vector-borne diseases. The Unit has been instrumental in capacity building in immunology. Within the framework of pandemic preparedness, the Unit has established a single cell analysis platform and a monoclonal antibody production platform. Members of the Unit are leading and are involved in multi-partner international research projects funded by Welcome Trust, NIH, the Pasteur Network and other important international funders.

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated to reinforce the Immunology Unit. The job focuses on the processing of blood samples and biobanking. This position offers a 12-month contract with a chance of extension based on the staff performance.

Position Overview:

Laboratory Technician: performing of standardized immunological assays according to laboratory standard operation procedures such as PCR, ELISA, Luminex assay. Be able to work sterile and perform cell culture of primary immune cells.

  • Contract: The initial contract is offered for 1 year (renewable)
  • Start Date: April 1, 2026

Main Responsibilities:

  • ELISA
  • Cell culture
  • PCR
  • Application of Standard Operating Procedures developed in the unit
  • Other immunogical assays (after training): flow cytometry, Luminex

Candidate Profile:

  • Technical diploma or certificate from institute or university
  • Fresh graduated accepted
  • Technical diploma or certificate from institute or university
  • Bilingual English – Khmer.
  • Rigorous, meticulous, organized and motivated
  • Basic knowledge in laboratory skill and sterile work.
  • Basic computer knowledge (office suite)
  • Basic knowledge in Immunology techniques and sterile work
